Preparing for results

Step 4: Results

If your students are waiting for exam results that they need to get into a conservatoire, they should be prepared for what happens next.

Be available

Applicants need to be available when the results are published. They might have to make quick and perhaps difficult decisions about their future, so they need to be prepared to speak to the conservatoires themselves and not leave this to somebody else.

Check contact details

Applicants need to check that their personal details are correct in Track - we and the conservatoires contact them by email, letter and sometimes by phone, so make sure that we have their up-to-date details.

If your students use a different address during term time, please make sure they change their address to their home or new address at the end of the summer term. All correspondence will be sent to whichever address they have entered on their application as their postal address until they enrol at a conservatoire.

We will pass on new details to their chosen conservatoires, but if your students are expecting any urgent correspondence from them, they may also want to tell them directly. If they have changed their address, applicants should also make arrangements to redirect their mail, in case letters have already been posted.

Making changes

If there are changes to your student's circumstances, check the making changes page which explains what to do.

Getting results

We receive some exam results from the awarding organisations, which we send to the conservatoires. Check the list of exam results we receive to see if their results are listed. If not, they need to send their results to the conservatoires, who will decide whether or not to confirm the place.

As soon as we receive a decision from one of the conservatoires this will be displayed in Track.
