Once we have received a completed application, the following steps occur.
When we receive your completed application, we begin to process the details. If we have to query anything, we will contact you to find out more information.
Once your application is processed, conservatoires can access it online. They will be able to view your whole application, and be able to see to which other conservatoires you have applied.
After processing your application, we will send you a Welcome letter containing your Personal ID and a list of your choices. Please check the information carefully and let us know immediately if it is not correct by contacting our Customer Service Unit. If your postal address is in the UK and you haven't received your letter within 14 days of sending your application to us, please contact our Customer Service Unit.
You will be able to view your application in Track using your Personal ID and the same username and password you used to apply.
The conservatoires will consider your application and contact you if they require further information. You will normally need to demonstrate your practical ability before a conservatoire can make a decision. If you are a performer, you will normally be invited to give a live audition at the conservatoire. In some cases you may be allowed to send a recording or video. If you are a composer, you will normally be invited to send a portfolio of your work. In some cases, you will be invited for interview. Whatever your specialist area, the 'audition' will be designed to allow you to demonstrate your practical skills and is a very important part of the application process. Some conservatoires have audition centres in other countries to cater for international applicants. The time taken to organise and hold auditions is the main factor that determines how long conservatoires need to make their decisions. Decisions will be displayed on Track as soon as we receive them.
