Step 2: Applying

Data Protection

When you complete your application online, we ask you to read and agree to the declaration displayed on Apply. When you agree to the declaration, you agree that we and the conservatoires can process your information and keep a copy of your application to collect statistics and detect and prevent fraud.

The Data Protection Act 1998 allows you to ask us for a copy of all the information we have about your application. We charge £10 for this service to cover administrative costs. If you would like a copy of your information, please write to us giving your full name, address and Personal ID, and send us a cheque or postal order for £10, payable to CUKAS. Applications are kept at CUKAS for 3 years.

Please send your request and cheque or postal order to CUKAS, Rosehill, New Barn Lane, Cheltenham, Glos GL52 3LZ.

If you wish to pay by credit or debit card, phone our Customer Service Unit on 0871 468 0 470 (or 0044 871 468 0 470 from outside the UK). You must have your Personal ID to hand and be able to answer some security questions correctly.

We, or the UCAS group of companies, may send you information not directly related to your application, but covering areas of interest such as:

  • funding and sponsorship opportunities
  • health issues
  • careers opportunities relevant to your chosen subject(s)
  • goods and services relevant to higher education (such as student banking and travel discounts).

Such information may be sent by email, SMS text or by post. If you want to receive this information, please tick the appropriate boxes when you register to apply.
