Your choice of conservatoire and course determines whether or not you can divide your studies equally between two instruments. After you have entered a conservatoire and a course in the choices section on your application, you click on a drop-down list to select your study type. This list will tell you which of the following types of study are offered for that choice of conservatoire and course:
Joint Main Instrument Study - You can divide your studies equally between two instruments.
Secondary Instrument Study - You can study one main instrument and another as a secondary instrument.
Main Instrument Study - You can only study one instrument.
Alternative Instrument Study - You study one instrument, but you can audition in two instruments to increase your chances of obtaining a place. You usually have to pay a higher audition fee.
