Welcome

Step 2: Applying

The Welcome screen gives you your Personal ID. Please make a note of your Personal ID and quote it in all future communications with CUKAS or the conservatoires. Once you have completed and sent your application to us, you will be sent a Welcome letter.

Completing your application

As you work through completing your application, we recommend you regularly use the 'Save' button at the bottom of each section to ensure no data is lost. You must save each section as you complete it before moving on to the next section. (Clicking 'Save' does not send any part of your application to CUKAS, it merely saves it so you can continue working on it in the future.)

You can print or check your application at any stage. It is highly recommended that you print a full copy of your application before sending it to us. When all of the sections have been completed, you can submit your application to us. Once you have received your Welcome letter, you will be able to view your details through Track. If you need to change your address, telephone number or email address, this can be done through Track.

You need to ensure that you either print or download the two reference forms in the reference section. These forms can be either posted or emailed to your referees for them to complete and send to the conservatoires. If you are applying for music courses before 1 October you should aim to have your references with conservatoires by the end of October. If you are applying for dance and drama courses different deadlines may apply; please refer to the conservatoires' websites for information. If applying after the October deadline you should aim to have references with conservatoires as soon as possible. The reference forms are headed Acedemic reference and Music reference for the time being, so if you are applying for a dance or drama course, please give the Music reference form to your dance or drame referee.

Help is available throughout the process by using the 'help' link in each section.

When all of the sections are complete, you must pay your application and audition fees and send your completed application to us. You must also make arrangements for your references to be sent to each conservatoire you have applied to.

The application area of the CUKAS website is designed for applicants who already know the course they wish to apply for. If you wish to carry out further course research, details are available at Course Search.

Help: if you need any additional assistance you can contact our Customer Service Unit. You will have to answer some security questions correctly before we can discuss your application.

Applying through more than one application service

CUKAS is an admissions service administered by UCAS and your details will be held by UCAS. If you make an application through more than one of our application services (CUKAS, UCAS or GTTR) you cannot hold more than one confirmed place. A confirmed place in CUKAS is a guaranteed unconditional offer as your first choice (GU1) and in UCAS and GTTR, it is an unconditional firm (UF) place. If you do receive more than one confirmed place, we will ask you to accept one and withdraw from any others.
