Step 5: Next steps

Once you have received your results and we have received decisions from your conservatoires:

  • We will write to you if your offer becomes a guaranteed unconditional place. If you do not obtain a guaranteed unconditional place at your first choice, we will write to you if your second choice becomes a guaranteed unconditional place. If you will definitely be taking up your place, you need take no action. The conservatoire will send you joining instructions before you start your course.

  • If you do not intend to take up the place, you must email the conservatoire to let them know within 14 days of the date on the letter. The email address will be given on the letter. If you refuse the place, you will be withdrawing yourself from the application cycle for that year. You will, however, be able to reapply in the next application cycle.

  • If your place is for deferred entry and you accept it, you cannot reapply in the next application cycle.

  • If your place is not confirmed you can reapply in the next application cycle.

The details displayed on your Track 'choices' screen are exactly what we have been sent by your conservatoires. If you have a query about any of your choice details, please contact the conservatoire direct.

When will I know if I have a place?

  • 2012 entry: no later than 28 September 2012, and usually by 24 August 2012.

If you make an application through more than one of our application systems (CUKAS, UCAS or GTTR) you cannot hold more than one confirmed place. A confirmed place in CUKAS is a guaranteed unconditional offer as your first choice (GU1) and in UCAS and GTTR it is an unconditional firm (UF) place. If you do receive more than one confirmed place, we will ask you to accept one and withdraw from any others.

Withdrawing your application

You can withdraw your whole application at any time. Ordinarily, no refund is given, but if you are withdrawing within seven days of submitting your original application, please contact our Customer Service Unit>>

Unless you withdraw within seven days, you will not subsequently be able to re-apply; you will need to wait until the next admission cycle before submitting another application to CUKAS.
