Preparing for results

Step 4: Results

If you're waiting for exam results that you need to get into a conservatoire, be prepared for what happens next.

Be available

You need to be available when the results are published. You might have to make quick and perhaps difficult decisions about your future so be prepared to speak to the conservatoires yourself - do not leave this to somebody else.

Check your contact details

Check that your personal details are correct in Track - we and the conservatoires contact you by email, letter and sometimes by phone, so make sure we have your up-to-date details. All correspondence will be sent to the postal address you have given us until you have enrolled at the conservatoire.

We will pass on your new details to your chosen conservatoires, but if you are expecting any urgent correspondence from them, you may also want to tell them yourself. If you have changed your address, you should also make arrangements to redirect your mail in case letters have already been posted to you.

Making changes

If there are changes to your circumstances, check the making changes page which explains what to do.

Getting your results

We receive some exam results from the awarding bodies, which we send to the conservatoires. Check the list of exam results we receive to see if your results are listed. If your qualification is not listed, you need to send your results to the conservatoires yourself. Once they have your results, they will decide whether or not to confirm your place.

If you are taking Edexcel exams you can find out more information about your results and what you can do next on the Edexcel student website.

As soon as we receive a decision from one of your conservatoires this will be displayed in Track.
